Word of God Wednesday - Hebrews 4:12

As a Christian, the Bible is VERY important to me. Actually, I just looked on my bookshelf and I have over a dozen copies of the Bible in all different versions and colors. I have a small one for my purse on Sunday mornings, a huge, large print one for studying, a pretty purple one for my ladies Bible study class, and one with the Greek/Hebrew right in the text. I also have the Bible on tape, on CD, on DVD, and on my handy-dandy iPhone. Wow! Can you believe it?
I think that I have accumulated so many copies of this book because I am convinced that there is something extremely special about it. It contains treasures that I have not yet discovered, peace that I cannot fully understand, and a genuine Spirit of love that, at times, is hard for me to grasp.
Hebrews 4:12 says this...
The most important thing that we need to remember is that the Word of God is POWERFUL! It is "living & active". It is a sharp sword that cuts between the things of God in your life and the things NOT of God in your life. Isn't that amazing?

You're right!! It is amazing how many Bibles I own too! I so often take that for granted, but I have the all-powerful Word of God in my possession! What a precious thought!
i like the imagery of a double edge sword, able to penetrate both us (soul, spirit & attitudes) but also the enemy that comes against us. i imagine that when i'm holding my Bible in my arms, close to my heart, i'm fully protected.
