"O LORD , you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD . You hem me in-behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain." - Psalm 139: 1-6 NIV
I have heard it said that God doesn't really care about the day-to-day details of our lives. He doesn't care if you have bacon vs. sausage for breakfast or which way you take home from work.
Well, I pose this question to those who might think along those lines: If He doesn't care about those details, then why does He bother to know when I sit down? Why does He bother to know when and where I go?

The answer is clear to me: He bothers to know because He bothers to care.

If I am about to do or say something that He feels the need to address, then the Holy Spirit steps in and leads and guides me (as long as I make the choice to listen and obey). I wholeheartedly believe that. I believe that the Lord that I serve cares very deeply about my everyday life, my everyday decisions and my everyday thoughts. If He didn't then we would have a God who sits in the heavens and "directs traffic" from His hub in the sky but doesn't really get involved with the mortals. There are several places in the Word that dispute that. One example is Romans 8:11: "The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you."
This Scripture clearly states that He is VERY involved with us because His Spirit dwells IN us. How can He help but be involved? He goes everywhere we go - we are never without Him. He knows the thoughts of my heart, He knows the attitudes brewing inside of me. The bottom line is He KNOWS and He CARES. And I for one will praise Him for that.
