Are you Ready for Battle?

From the Exodus from Egypt all through the Old Testament, the Israelites were constantly at war.  They are in a constant battle against sin, and against their neighboring territories.  In I Chronicles chapter 12, we are witness to thousands of fighting men preparing for battle with David:

"warriors ready for battle" v.25
"understood the times and knew what Israel should do" v.32
"to help David (God's chosen) with undivided loyalty" v. 33
"experienced soldiers" v. 36
"armed with every type of weapon" v. 37

As a woman of faith, are you ready for battle?  You are in one every day.  "Your enemy, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." I Peter 5:8  Will you be next?  Will your children?  Your spouse?

Warriors, we must be ready each and every day for this battle. From David's example above, are you ready for battle?  Do you understand the times and know what must be done?  Is your undivided loyalty to God?  Do you have every type of weapon ready?

The famous passage in Ephesians 6 reminds us that we must "put on" the armor of God.  We don't wake up every morning ready for battle.  Our preparations for the day, every morning, are made on our knees, seeking the face and guidance of Jesus, asking his protection for our family, covering our home with prayer.

Verse 13 states "when the day of evil comes".  Notice it doesn't say "if".  We know hard times will come, and we must be prepared.  Satan is dedicated to destroying the believers confidence in God.  He will seduce you through every deception to believe his lies. And every Christian has a target on their back.

Ladies, I believe with all my heart that we must always keep this at the forefront of our minds.  The moment we forget that we are in a battle, Satan launches a sneak attack, and before we know it, we have been cut down at the knees.

If you haven't committed time every day to meet with the Lord, will you start today?  If you need encouragement and accountability to get started and stay on track, might I suggest checking out a great program called Hello Mornings over at Inspired to Action. This is a fabulous group of women who have all taken the challenge to get up a little earlier each morning for quiet time.  They encourage one another and keep each other accountable.  I am one of those women, and this challenge has changed me.

Ladies, let's get out there and fight!!
