Pain is a Sign of Life

In a world where we want everything fast and easy, it may disappoint some of you to hear that pain is a sign of life.
After a near fatal car crash, it took the daughter of country star Hank Williams Jr. three years before she was finally able to perform on stage again for the first time. At one point during her six weeks in the hospital, she asked her doctor when the pain would end. After having been brought back from death, he encouraged her with the following words: “Pain is a sign of life.”
Too often we pray for God to take the pain away. Have you ever stopped to think that the daily burdens that tend to overwhelm us could actually be reminders to enjoy what we have?
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” – Hebrews 12:11

Questions to ponder:
1. Have you been praying for your will or God's will to be done in your life?

2. Are you tryin
g to carry others' burdens instead of encouraging them to lay them at the foot of the cross?

3. Are you robbing your children the joy of ALL life has to offer by pretending pain doesn't exist?

God never promised life would be easy, but the life He has for those who love Him is fuller than any we could ever imagine on our own. Won't you share that promise with your kids today?

What a beautiful post!! Thanks for the reminder! It's so easy to forget just HOW grateful we should be. Not only are we alive but when we know the Lord we have His word and His promises!! I just found an old cross stitch piece of my mothers(LURKING in my closet) that says " I Never Said It Would Be Easy, But, I Said It Would Be Worth It" How true:)
Happy Weekend!!
